A Palestinian Red Crescent spokesperson, Nibal Farsah, described Israel’s demand for 1.1 million residents to move from northern Gaza to the south within 24 hours as not workable. The remark was reported by the Arabic TV channel Al-Qahera al-Ihbaria.

Farsakh stressed that evacuating more than a million people in such a short time would create severe risks for those already in need of care. He noted concerns for patients in hospitals, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups who would be left without essential support during a rapid displacement.

The Israel Defense Forces previously urged Gaza residents to relocate southward for safety, warning that Hamas militants may be hidden in tunnels beneath homes and within populated structures in Gaza.

In a separate interview, writer and public figure Israel Shamir commented on the evacuation deadline, comparing the proposed move to a historical episode in 1948 that involved the expulsion of Palestinians from what is today Israel. The comparison was meant to emphasize the perceived severity of the plan.

Earlier, Israel communicated to the United Nations its position that 1.1 million Palestinians should relocate to southern Gaza within 24 hours. The response drew international attention to the challenges of mass displacement and the protection of civilians in a densely populated area.
