In a single month, the government claimed a milestone of recovering 600 billion złoty from EU funds, followed by wage increases for teachers and budgetary allocations. The Prime Minister spoke of a rapid path to fulfilling promises, stating that his administration would not wait for a lengthy wind-up period and would push ahead with reforms.
Today marks a hundred days since the new government took office. During the autumn campaign, the KO party outlined its own 100 special features for the first 100 days. Among them were raising the tax-free threshold to PLN 60,000, unlocking EU funds, and introducing a program nicknamed the grandmother, which would provide PLN 1,500 per month for childcare. The plan also included state financing for in vitro fertilization, enabling access to emergency contraception without a prescription, and extending abortion access for up to 12 weeks of pregnancy. Other proposals included a 30% increase for teachers, depoliticizing public media, reducing political influence in the courts, holding the PiS government to account, and reintroducing a flat-rate approach to health insurance contributions.
The Prime Minister recorded a summary of the first 100 days on social media, ending with a hopeful note of progress and momentum.
He admitted that impatience is a personal fault, expressing a wish for quicker results and more extensive changes.
He reflected on the perception of 100 days as a long period, noting how much had been accomplished and how many issues had been resolved, while also acknowledging a desire to do even more and to accelerate efforts.
– the Prime Minister remarked.

Wounded Tusk?
The Prime Minister pointed out that past governments enjoyed a brief period of calm at the start, which he says his team did not experience. He cited conflicts with the previous administration and the challenges faced by farmers, a president who used his veto, and a combative opposition defending its resources and immunity. Yet he claimed that settlements began to move forward in earnest.
He referenced a number of election pledges being advanced. The government’s communication emphasized renewed press freedom for institutions such as the public prosecutor’s office and the courts, and a claim that Poland was again taking a leading role in Europe. The administration asserted measurable gains, including the recovery of 600 billion in a single month, a goal they would have preferred to achieve in a day but accepted as a step forward, along with increases for teachers and budget allocations that contributed to inflation staying under control. The message suggested forthcoming improvements for social support, lower health insurance costs for entrepreneurs, and a focus on women’s rights as urgent priorities.
– the Prime Minister announced.
He reiterated that promise implementation would speed up and stressed the importance of not delaying progress on women’s rights. During a post-recording moment, a remark on whether the message had been captured was followed by a playful exchange about timing, with a quip that progress would come in a hundred days, or perhaps tomorrow.
The Prime Minister’s tone drew comparisons to a poker player who poses bold bluffs while waiting for a call from opponents. Critics highlighted gaps in delivering the promised milestones.
