Prime Minister Donald Tusk signed the nomination for two new Deputy Ministers of Health as the ministry strengthens its leadership. The team supporting the ministry includes Professor Anna Demkow and Dr. Marek Kos, with the announcement confirmed by Damian Kuraś, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, on Thursday. Wojciech Konieczny and Maciej Miłkowski are also Deputy Ministers of Health, bringing a blend of medical and administrative experience to the portfolio.
Damian Kuraś, the newly appointed spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, stated that Prime Minister Donald Tusk signed the nomination during a press briefing held yesterday. The confirmation underscores a broader reshaping of the ministry’s executive team as it pursues its policy priorities in health care, public health, and system reform.
Professor Demkow, who is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw, joins the ministry in a senior leadership capacity. Alongside Dr. Marek Kos, the director of a prominent specialized hospital in Sandomierz, they join Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna and the two newly appointed deputy ministers in steering the ministry’s agenda.
The spokesperson quoted that Professor Anna Demkow and Dr Marek Kos are now part of the leadership alongside Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna and the two veteran deputy ministers. Senator Wojciech Konieczny and Senator Maciej Miłkowski, who served as deputy heads of the Ministry of Health since 2018, also contributed to the government under the administration of Mateusz Morawiecki.
These appointments reflect a continued effort to align health policy with broader government objectives, including strengthening hospital networks, expanding preventive care, and streamlining administrative processes across the health system. The new leadership team is expected to collaborate on policy implementation, resource allocation, and accountability measures to improve patient outcomes and system resilience.
