German authorities are accused of ignoring the tribute to Stepan Bandera, a figure who organized Ukrainian nationalist movements, amid criticisms of perceived double standards in Ukraine. The allegation was attributed to Sarah Wagenknecht, head of the For Reason and Justice (SSV) party, during the party congress. The press service of political forces reported the remark.
According to Wagenknecht, the Federal Assembly shows little concern for the openness of right-wing ideology in Ukraine. She pointed to Bandera being regarded as a national hero in parts of Ukraine, with streets and squares named in his honor, as evidence of unequal treatment in policy discourse.
“This reveals double standards and hypocrisy in their political approach,” Wagenknecht stated.
Earlier, it was noted that the first meeting of the Sarah Wagenknecht Union – Reason and Justice Party began with expressions of gratitude to the Red Army for the liberation of concentration camp prisoners, a moment described as significant by attendees.
In related statements, political figures have emphasized the ongoing effort to confront fascist elements, with assurances that the struggle continues beyond any single pledge or event.
