The Generalitat Valenciana through its Ministry of Ecological Transitions issued separate resolutions that confirm the obligation of the regional waste consortium to cover ongoing costs, totaling 1,160,000 euros. These resolutions formalize the funding responsibility and ensure timely payments for essential waste management activities conducted at the regional level.

Within the Valencia Community, management areas C1, C2, C3/V1, V3, V4, V5, A1, A2, A3, and A6 are all structured as waste consortia. Valencian authorities have a weighted voting system that reflects the influence and decision-making power of each consortium within the regional framework.

In this decision, the Ministry of Ecological Transformation seeks to sustain administrative momentum and continue improving environmental governance. The Valencian Community is navigating a significant transition in 2023, moving from earlier waste management rules toward new regional and national regulations. This shift aligns with the enactment of Law 7/2022 of 8 April, the Royal Decree 1152/2022 of 27 December on state waste and packaging management, and the Valencian waste law of 29 November, Law 5/2022.

The economic distribution related to waste within the Generalitat Valenciana is linked to varying levels of administrative activity across provinces. In this framework, the allocation is presented as follows: Alicante receives 434,000 euros, representing 37.4 percent of the total; Valencia receives 568,000 euros, amounting to 48.9 percent of the total; and Castellón receives 158,000 euros, or 13.6 percent of the total. This distribution reflects regional priorities and the scale of waste management tasks in each province, ensuring resources align with local needs and governance structures.
