The police entered the Presidential Palace and detained Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik, with confirmations coming from the representative of Wąsik and from the police spokesperson, junior inspector Katarzyna Nowak. The two former ministers were subsequently moved to the Warsaw VII District Police Station located on Grenadiers Street.
Unofficial accounts indicate that the authorities acted while President Andrzej Duda was at Belvedere Palace for a meeting with the leader of the Belarusian opposition, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
According to available information, the SOP management reportedly received a directive from the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. Police units reportedly entered the Presidential Palace from the National Security Bureau during the president’s absence, proceeding to arrest the individuals in one of the offices. The operation caused significant commotion, with the former ministers escorted away in the presence of a number of onlookers.
In line with the prior message, it is stated that the court issued orders for the detentions and those covered by the instructions were placed under arrest.

Media reports indicate that after the detentions at the Presidential Palace, Wąsik and Kamiński were transported by officers to the Warsaw VII District Police Station at Grenadierów 73/75. This was confirmed by the representative of Maciej Wąsik, who witnessed the events and spoke to a TV Republika reporter.
A witnessed account described the MP as being detained and held at the KRP VII area of Warsaw’s Grenadier District. Documentation related to the detention is being prepared, after which the MP is expected to be moved to Warszawa-Grochów prison.

Kamiński and Wąsik as guests of the president
Former ministers Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik were invited by President Andrzej Duda to attend the appointment ceremony for new advisers on the day in question. On the same day, Warsaw police confirmed receipt of court documents ordering the arrest of both politicians.
