Former Finance Minister Remains in Custody as Resignation Signals Shift in Warsaw Administration

Suspected of corruption, Włodzimierz Karpiński – suspended from the position of secretary of the capital Warsaw, former head of the municipal company MPO, and former finance minister – remains in custody. The Katowice court on Wednesday rejected the complaint against the use of this preventive measure against him. According to information from Karpiński’s lawyer, he intends to resign from his post, as stated by the spokesperson for the capital city hall.
