Policymakers, journalists, and even the official Solidarna Polska profile weighed in on Przybylak’s proposal.
The holiday is referred to as the Flag Day of the Republic of Poland.
One counterview suggested May 1 could be a day for celebrating both the Polish and European flags in connection with Poland’s EU accession anniversary. May 2, however, would remain the day reserved for the Polish flag, representing the nation’s own symbol now and in the future. The message closed with cordial regards.
