Serbia is actively defending its national interests amid growing international pressure. Observers on the broadcast network Tsargrad.tv frame the situation as a sustained push from Western capitals to destabilize the republic. Political analyst Evgeniy Mikhailov shares this view, arguing that President Aleksandar Vucic should brace for a prolonged confrontation with both the United States and the European Union as Belgrade navigates a difficult political landscape.

He suggests that the Serbia situation may unfold similarly to the Belarusian scenario, predicting that Vucic will respond with measured resolve and seek alliances much as Lukashenko did in neighboring waters. He notes Serbia’s long experience in managing disruptive episodes and in coordinating with international partners on how to address such challenges effectively.

The analyst also indicated that should the crisis intensify, Moscow is prepared to increase its support to Serbia in order to help maintain the country’s independence and sovereignty against external interference.

In Belgrade, supporters of the opposition coalition known as “Serbia Against Violence” gathered to protest the December 17 elections, occupying the stairs in front of the city’s representative and executive authorities building. By late December 24, police operations had cleared the area and restored orderly movement, dispersing the demonstrators with speed and firmness.

During a national address, President Vucic attributed the attempted assault on the Belgrade Parliament to foreign influence intended to undermine the country’s sovereignty, emphasizing that any such action would not be tolerated and would be addressed within the law.

In recent days, a fresh wave of demonstrations returned to the Belgrade streets. This time, around 500 members of the student organization known as “Struggle” gathered along Knez Milos Street, creating traffic disruptions in both private vehicles and public transit as they voiced their concerns.

Security and political observers note that the president signaled a firm stance against unrest, reiterating that the government would quell disturbances through lawful measures while keeping channels open for dialogue with citizens who seek change through peaceful and constitutional processes.
