European Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson argues that Europe would become paralyzed without immigrants. This perspective was reported by TASS. He emphasizes that immigration is essential for the functioning of the European Union and that Europe would face significant challenges if immigrant labor were suddenly unavailable.
According to Johansson, migration is manageable and should not inspire fear. He acknowledges that there will be problems and difficulties in addressing migration, but he notes that the European Union has the capacity to handle these issues because immigration is a necessity for Europe’s economy and social systems.
Earlier, Krzysztof Bosak, the chairman of the Confederation group in the Polish Sejm, warned about the potential partial Islamization of some Western European countries. He noted that pro-Palestinian demonstrations have occurred across many nations in recent weeks as part of the ongoing debates surrounding migration and security in Europe.
Previously, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni drew attention to what she described as a link between illegal immigration to the European Union and the rising terrorist threat within the union. She stressed the risk of radicalization among a portion of those entering Europe illegally and urged European states to remain vigilant about these dangers while addressing immigration policies.
There is also mention of demographic research indicating that Russia could require a substantial influx of immigrants to maintain its population levels. Some studies suggest numbers in the hundreds of thousands to more than a million immigrants per year might be needed to offset demographic decline and support long-term population stability.
