In the upcoming week, another meeting is planned with PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński to discuss program matters, according to Kukiz’15 leader Paweł Kukiz, who spoke with PAP. He indicated that if he participates in elections at all, PiS would be the only party through which he could advance his demands.

The previous encounter between Kaczyński and Kukiz occurred at PiS headquarters in Warsaw toward the end of April and focused, as Kukiz told PAP, on his group’s calls for changes to the electoral law and the conduct of referenda. He noted, however, that there would be no joint electoral lists at this time.

“Discussions are now about details.”

According to Kukiz, program talks are actively underway with the coordination of MP Jarosław Sachajko for his faction and MEP Tomasz Poręba for PiS. The topics include shifting to a mixed electoral model, removing parliamentary immunities, and expanding the anti-corruption framework.

The ongoing discussions are a continuation of the broader topics addressed during the last high-level meeting, with President Kaczyński giving the green light for further talks, Kukiz noted.

“My next meeting with President Kaczyński will take place in a week,” Kukiz stated. He added that he had not yet discussed candidacy placements with the PiS president.

“Until I secure a contract that meets my expectations, I will not decide to run in the election,” he added.

“Tusk and Kosiniak-Kamysz cynically cheated on me”

Kukiz emphasized that “the man often described as Poland’s greatest dictator” has been the one politician who has not misled him and has followed through on most agreements, with justice forms remaining as a final point of consideration.

Kukiz argued that Kaczyński has presented pro-civil demands from the civic platform, which he now supports, while the Civic Platform party appears to oppose measures such as referendums, anti-corruption steps, and the establishment of justices of the peace.

He stated that if he were to run, the only party capable of helping him realize his aims would be Law and Justice, given the difficulties of financing and media access from other forces, including opponents like Donald Tusk and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, whom he criticized for failing to back his agenda. He claimed that the PSL also blocks referenda and the implementation of justices of the peace, a point he described as a betrayal of voters.

Previously, Jarosław Kaczyński and Paweł Kukiz signed a program cooperation agreement in June 2021. Kukiz has repeatedly emphasized that this agreement enabled progress on several key issues, including anti-corruption measures, medical and fiber hemp policy, direct sales to farmers, and equalization of benefits for carers of the disabled.
