The same method as before 2015
Scholars and political analysts note a troubling pattern. They point to a return of the provocations seen during past protests, especially around events like the Independence March before 2015. Andrzej Zybertowicz, a sociologist and adviser to the President of Poland, comments on police actions against protesting farmers in a televised discussion on Woronicza 17. He argues that similar methods are being used again and questions the leadership of the Interior Ministry.
The discussion raises a pressing question: should the interior minister, Marcin Kierwiński, be dismissed after the farmers’ protests?
I have the impression that, unfortunately, yes.
– responds Zybertowicz to a journalist’s inquiry.
He asserts that the nation is witnessing a repetition of provocations once seen in earlier demonstrations, particularly during the Independence March before 2015, with the same methods appearing anew.
– the presidential adviser emphasizes.
He adds that calm analysis is essential, noting that there are recordings that show a police officer rolling the dice. He argues that no system of law-abiding police training permits throwing rocks at peaceful demonstrators, and he describes a group of officers approaching nonviolent protesters. He suggests that an atmosphere of aggression among the police may have been created by someone in authority.
– Zybertowicz explains.
There are signs that if Mr Dariusz Joński of KO suggested in advance that the march would not be peaceful, the question remains who approved it or who cares.
– the sociologist continues.

Illegal guns
Zybertowicz states that a consensus is needed. He recalls an example about acquiring a television illegally and quotes Józef Piłsudski on how illegal guns can fire as readily as legal ones. He expresses hope that the editor allows space for dissent and suggests that PiS colleagues should participate in this public debate.
– the sociologist remarks.
The president’s adviser proposes a commission with opposition participation
He notes that promises were made of a new quality of law, a stronger rule of law, and improved media integrity. He questions whether there will be a fair and objective explanation of what happened, prompting a tense reaction from KO MP Dariusz Joński in the studio.
The adviser adds that he would like to propose a consensual approach to address the protests.
He says that postponing the motion of no confidence against Minister Kierwiński until the report is published could be prudent, while also urging the minister to involve opposition representatives in forming a commission to clarify the matter. He believes such steps could restore credibility.
– he states.
He then clarifies that trust in the security services remains challenged, a point raised after a host’s question.
He notes that one can recall moments when a participant in a women’s protest spat in the face of police officers who faced harsh abuse. He acknowledges these past events as part of the broader discussion.
The conversation shifts toward forward movement. The idea is to avoid endless accusations and to seek clarity. The proposal is that PiS suspend the no-confidence motion until the report is completed, with participation from opposition representatives, thereby lending credibility to the process.
– the presidential advisor concludes.
