Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak announced publicly that the operational commander of the Polish Armed Forces faced serious scrutiny over how a search operation was handled for an object that fell near Bydgoszcz. The Minister of National Defense stated that the operational unit did not take proper action in relation to the search mission.
Inspection results made it clear that the operations commander failed to take adequate steps to locate the object. Only a police patrol reached the site, and the search was not continued beyond December 19. These findings were conveyed by the deputy prime minister.
Seniority in the Territorial Forces who were on duty did not participate in the search, and after December 19 the search efforts were halted completely, according to the accompanying remarks.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Błaszczak, the operational commander did not update him about the object that crossed Polish airspace. The inspection concluded that the operations commander neglected his duty to follow instructions, did not inform the minister about the facility in Polish airspace, and did not brief the government center for security or other services as required by established procedures.
