“I want to continue the work to strengthen Silesia”
The Prime Minister spoke in a Facebook podcast about his recent tour of Silesia and the presentation of the regional list of Law and Justice candidates for the upcoming elections.
He argued that renewed trust from voters should fuel further strengthening of Silesia, so that it becomes a more secure, prosperous, and impressive part of Poland. He described a broad vision that combines solid security with economic vitality and noted ambitious plans for the region. The Law and Justice team, he added, would advocate for a better Poland in district 31, which includes Katowice, and would pursue these goals with determination.
Morawiecki also recalled visits to Morzyce and Kruszwica, saying these trips were intended to showcase investments in smaller towns and demonstrate that growth can come from communities that often receive less attention than larger urban centers.
He stressed that Kruszwica and other small and medium-sized cities matter more to the nation than distant centers in Berlin, Paris, or Brussels, and that local priorities should guide policy rather than external directives.
“There has never been an investment like this before”
The Prime Minister noted that, regardless of whether local officials belong to Civic Platform, PSL, Law and Justice, or any other group, the common refrain is consistent: the level of local investment is unprecedented. He urged listeners to ask their mayors, councillors, and city presidents whether government funds for investment have ever reached local governments to the same extent as today. He asserted that the answer would confirm a substantial shift in funding patterns.
According to Morawiecki, the PiS government views such investments as a hallmark of progress, whereas previous administrations left projects forgotten. Major local improvements—roads, school modernization, bridges, detours, bypasses, traffic safety enhancements, fire stations, and community centers—were presented as essential benefits shared by Poles wherever they live.
Free laptops for fourth graders
Citing Eurostat data, the Prime Minister highlighted Poland’s resilience and its relatively robust economic growth since before the pandemic, framing Poland as a digitally advancing country. He argued that digital literacy should begin at an early age, with students learning to use computers and good software, while exploring the opportunities the labor market will offer in the future.
Morawiecki recalled another promise fulfilled by the government, noting that in the near term free laptops and computers would be provided to fourth graders, reinforcing the focus on digital skills as a foundation for future success.
“Credibility must be the basis of good policy.”
The Prime Minister acknowledged that not every project unfolds perfectly. Yet the guiding principle remains: credibility matters. He argued that politics should be judged by what is delivered, not merely by promises, contrasting this with a phrase once used by some opposition leaders that he characterized as insufficient. The message was clear: reliable results should define policy, and voters deserve transparency about what has been achieved.
