Law and Justice and Sovereign Poland figures remain stationed at the headquarters of the Polish Press Agency and Polish Television, standing guard during the Christmas holidays to safeguard these institutions against an alleged illegal seizure by associates of Donald Tusk. The goal is to keep the media independent and stable amid political pressure.

Steadfast commitment to media freedom

Even on a holiday, representatives from PiS and SP were present at the PAP and TVP centers to monitor developments and oppose actions viewed as violent or unlawful, which some described as being backed by Tusk’s circle.

Early in the morning, a new shift took over as parliamentary oversight intensified. The push to maintain lawful conduct was highlighted by MP Marcin Romanowski, who emphasized the need to resist aggression and the erosion of legal norms.

Officials at the Television Information Bureau also stayed engaged. Michał Adamczyk, Marcin Tulicki, and Samuel Pereira extended holiday greetings to the public and reaffirmed their commitment to journalistic integrity during the festive period.

During Christmas Eve, MP Mariusz Błaszczak addressed the demonstrations at the TVP site, calling for a measured approach and respect for the rule of law while defending critical public media institutions.

MP Jan Mosiński spoke about a collaborative moment where public supporters joined in singing carols near the PAP headquarters, signaling solidarity among those protecting public media roles.

Christmas Eve and Midnight Mass at PAP and TAI offices

A modest Christmas Eve gathering was held at the TAI headquarters on Powstańców Square in Warsaw, with journalists from Telewizja Polska and lawmakers in attendance. A midnight Mass followed, reflecting the period’s ceremonial tone. Journalists from media outlets and political commentary platforms were present to report on the event from the ground.
