Coal holds strategic value for Poland, symbolizing energy independence, supply security, and affordable electricity, according to Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro.
Donald Tusk as a wolf in sheep’s clothing
The leader of Solidarna Polska asserted that Tusk does not stand with miners, arguing that during his time as prime minister he advanced the energy priorities of what he described as a German-Russian alliance.
Tusk is portrayed as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He purportedly acts as a friend to miners, yet the claim is that his administration backed energy policies benefiting the German-Russian alliance, according to Ziobro.
Ziobro emphasized that the policies he opposed, which favored that alliance, contributed to higher energy costs in Poland today.

Tusk’s impact on the Silesian region
Deputy Justice Minister Michał Wójcik added that current energy prices reflect the influence of the European People’s Party and the Civic Platform led by Donald Tusk. He argued that such price levels and sectoral challenges would not exist if those political forces had not steered EU energy policy.
The message stresses that Tusk, over the years, has caused damage to the Silesian land and its residents. The Solidarna Polska delegation views its visit to Silesia as a crucial effort to counter claims made by the loudest critics and to present an alternative perspective on the mining region and its future.
