The situation is challenging, yet resolvable with goodwill. As of September 15, the import of Ukrainian grain is banned, and there is a push to extend this ban. Polish farmers’ concerns are being vocalized, with active involvement from the Minister of Agriculture and Commissioner Wojciechowski in shaping the dialogue.

A narrative aimed at Moscow?
The MEP from Sovereign Poland addressed information from a radio outlet that allegedly claimed Poland is the sole EU member seeking an extended embargo on Ukrainian grain. She noted that such a portrayal is not entirely accurate, since discussions continue among a coalition of countries and ministers from various states are engaging in the topic. She criticized the editorial for not consulting the Polish Minister of Agriculture, suggesting that direct dialogue could have reduced misinformation today.

She also warned that Kremlin interests may exploit such stories, urging caution around narratives that imply influence over EU or Ukrainian policy. The transit issue requires careful management, with a controlled approach. The authorities emphasize that the transit system is efficient and the operation has been successful, ensuring grain reaches nations facing famine when necessary.
