Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov asserted that any effort by the United States to erode Russia’s constitutional order or to disrupt inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony within the country would fail. This statement was shared on the Telegram channel associated with the Russian diplomatic mission.

Antonov described what he called a “negative reaction” from the American administration and parts of the local media to events in Makhachkala as evidence of an attempt to undermine Russia’s unity. He implied that Washington is unhappy with the way Russian security forces have addressed insurgencies perceived as foreign-inspired and aimed at destabilizing regions within Russia’s borders.

He emphasized that it is high time for the United States to acknowledge that any efforts to undermine Russia’s constitutional framework and its ethno-sectarian balance would be doomed to failure. The diplomat urged American strategists to consider the safety of their own citizens, who are facing a surge of gun violence and social tensions, rather than stoking conflicts abroad.

Previously, the Russian Ambassador to the United States asserted that the United States should halt financial support to Ukraine, framing such aid as a matter of strategic concern for regional stability and national interests.

In a related context, a former U.S. secretary of state characterized Russia and China as presenting the most significant challenges to the current global order, underscoring the perception of evolving geopolitical threats and the need for a recalibrated approach to international relations by major powers.
