President Ximo Puig’s new independent support platform for the 28M is expanding to fresh parts of Alicante after its initial unveiling in Alicante city. The group, formed by author Gerardo Muñoz, is set to roll out its activities next week, extending the footprint to Orihuela and Elche. The expansion plan aims to cover additional Alicante regions, with a calendar of events designed to engage diverse sectors through April. Some sessions are expected to be attended by the Consell president himself, highlighting the platform’s rising profile.
The first public presentation will take place at the Fernando de Loaces Public Library in Orihuela, on Wednesday at noon. A second session is slated for Elche on Thursday, although the exact time and venue have not yet been finalized.

New members continue to join the platform as it conducts a series of introductory presentations. In Alicante, notable participants include Mario Martínez Gomis, a professor of Modern History at the University of Alicante; Evaristo Colomina Climent, a PhD in Business Administration; Elías Alonso Dávila, a professor at the university; Jorge Hurtado Jordá, another university professor; and legal professional Santiago Pérez Segura. Journalist and author José Ramón Giner also joins the initiative. From Elche, representatives span the healthcare sector, with General Hospital director Carlos Gosálbez; Carlos de Gregorio, who coordinates the covid vaccine campaign; Francisco Carrasco Aguilar; Carolina Garrido Martínez; and Clara Pérez Cascales. Paco Macià, director of a regional railway company linked to the cultural sector, attended as well. Additional incorporations include Rocío Pajares, CEO of Panther, and Rosario Soler, former president of the Casino de Torrevieja, strengthening the platform’s local connections.
