The orange party today submitted its Alicante regional candidacy without any major surprise. At the top sits Jose Miguel Saval, leading a slate aligned with the renovation driven by the party’s youth wing and the current group of party officials. An independent signatory, Miguel Hernández University professor Carlos Pastor appears in fifth place. The list closes with a municipalist nod at the end, while the five reserve slots feature the mayors of the province’s five largest municipalities: Alicante, Elche, Benidorm, Dénia, and San Vicente del Raspeig.

The lineup includes Fernando Llopis, a University of Alicante professor and current district MP who has spearheaded many party initiatives in the Valencian Parliament this term, occupying the second spot. Maria Jose Bernal hails from Elche in position three, Elisa Royo comes from Dénia in position five, and Ciudadanos seeks to project influence across every corner of the province.

Mamen Peris promoted Jose Miguel Saval and replaced his deputy López-Bas

The orange nomination did not deliver the anticipated surprise, mirroring the Alicante city outcome where Adrián Santos Pérez included recognizable local figures but framed it as a dedicated project. Peris, the current president, criticized the administration for neglect and underfunding, accusing both the PP and PSOE of misgovernance. She argued that Ciudadanos would bring stability, curb partisan hostility, and resist regressive education policies. Saval added that the concerns of Alicante residents would be addressed with clear answers and urged collective action, saying the future government should be honest, centralized, and courageous.
