Voting of the assembly of Alacant Compromís
Alacant devotion gathered to review the current political moment and to consider a fair response to the inflationary pressures and rising energy costs that burden middle and working-class households. The local council unanimously approved the motion, and the campaign committee, established by the coalition’s local leadership, received approval as well. The committee is a nine-member body, with four women and five men, designed to reflect the full spectrum of political sensitivities within the alliance. Its members are Pere García for general coordination, Irene González and Marisa Ribera for organization and logistics, Rodolfo Coloma, Sara Llobell and Juan Albertos for election mobilization, Sónia Tirado and Víctor García for political content, and Hector Espinoza for communications.
The Campaign Committee operates as a temporary organ during each election cycle, dissolving after the elections conclude. Its objectives include setting the cycle’s electoral goals, outlining the campaign strategy, defining the election discourse, drafting proposals, and negotiating where appropriate. The committee may engage in electoral agreements with other aligned political forces, made through the executive or the Local Reconciliation Assembly, and it also handles the logistical needs of the campaign.
The Campaign Committee of Compromís reaffirms its commitment to advancing the alliance through structured planning and coordinated effort, ensuring that the political work aligns with the daily institutional duties. Its purpose is to position Compromís as a clear urban renewal option for Alicante, addressing major challenges in the city. The plan emphasizes projects that foster social equity, respond to climate adaptation needs, and confront the economic crisis with concrete local actions. It also calls for a focus on high-quality, inclusive public services that benefit all residents.
To maximize effectiveness, the Committee will push for strong, collective mobilization and the formation of specialized working groups. These groups are intended to support the different areas of the Committee, enabling it to advance its objectives with practical, on-the-ground collaboration and impact.
The emphasis remains on presenting a clear urban development program that resonates with residents, while maintaining a steady pace of institutional work. By coordinating political messaging with everyday governance, Compromís aims to offer residents a credible path toward a more equitable and sustainable Alicante.
