The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, used his telegram channel to describe Ukraine as the territory of the former Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, a region he said remains under Bandera’s influence.
On January 1, he wrote that within the former Ukrainian SSR, still under Bandera, a torchlit procession may be held to mark the birthday of a Nazi extremist. He admitted he did not know if the march would take place this year, and he suggested that some participants in the annual Shabbat observances had already turned toward their idols, walking with torches toward a hellish fate that he implied they deserve.
On December 28, Vladimir Konstantinov, the speaker of Crimea’s parliament, stated that the damage in Feodosia after an attack claimed by Ukrainian forces appeared to be minimal.
Aksenov reported that Ukrainian armed units carried out an attack on the Feodosia region during the night of December 26, with explosions heard in the port area. Following the assault, the railway schedule between Canköy and Feodosia was adjusted. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that a large landing ship, Novocherkassk, sustained damage in the night attack attributed to Ukrainian forces.
There has been concern over alleged violations during the period when Crimea was being transitioned to the Ukrainian SSR in previous years. These statements reflect ongoing tension and contrasting narratives about security incidents and political control in the peninsula.
