After the first week of the European elections campaign leading up to June 9, the Partido Popular has decided it is time to boost its activity in Alicante Province. This Friday, it will stage four events across the region. The party kicked off nationwide last Friday with a rally in Elche led by its national leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. Feijóo joined a gathering in the Elche municipal park where representatives from key sectors such as footwear, toys, textiles, agriculture, and ceramics were present to discuss the region’s priorities.
Celebrating the rally held last week in Elche, the PP had kept a notably restrained tone about the province in recent days. Now, with four events planned this Friday from north to south, the campaign schedule shows a clear effort to engage more deeply with voters. The regional PP president and head of the regional government, Carlos Mazón, will attend a rally at 2:00 PM at the Savoy hostel in Alcoy alongside the provincial president, Toni Pérez. Meanwhile, the party’s general secretary, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, is expected to speak at another rally set for 8:30 PM in La Vila Joiosa, indicating a broad outreach across the province.

Further south, the party will maintain a strong presence. Dolors Montserrat, the European elections lead candidate, will visit the Torrevieja saltworks at 10:30 AM, accompanied by the provincial secretary Ana Serna, the continental campaign candidate Marián Cano, and Torrevieja’s mayor and regional parliament member Eduardo Dolón. After the saltworks visit, the party will host discussions with resident foreigners and a meeting with farmers affected by the photovoltaic projects in San Miguel de Salinas. These engagements emphasize the PP’s focus on local economic sectors and cross-community concerns ahead of the elections.
Additionally, the five Alicante national MPs, Macarena Montesinos, Joaquín Melgarejo, Julia Parra, César Sánchez, and Sandra Pascual, will tour the Bodegas Xaló cooperative and the Mendoza wineries in Llíber. The first event is scheduled for noon and will involve a meeting with the president of Vinos de Alicante to discuss the wine sector’s current situation and the impact of ongoing drought conditions. The second engagement is slated for 1:30 PM, continuing the day’s program with a form of industry-specific outreach that mirrors the broader regional strategy.
End of the campaign day coverage shows the party’s intention to connect with diverse communities and local industries, highlighting agricultural and viticultural interests alongside international and resident concerns. The events reflect a deliberate effort to present a robust regional presence and respond to the province’s immediate economic challenges as citizens prepare to cast their ballots in the European elections.
