From Wednesday 19 May 2023 to Monday 24 April, the window for submitting candidates to the relevant Provincial Election Boards for the Les Corts elections scheduled for 28 May 2023 was opened. The Official Journal of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) published the closing deadline on April 26, marking the end of the candidacy submission period. As deadlines for review draw to a close, the final list of nominees is expected to be released on May 1 and published in the DOGV on May 2.
In the Valencian Parliament elections held previously, the 2019 cycle showed a total of 41 applications, compared with 64 announced during the 2015 cycle. By constituency in 2019, Alicante saw 15 candidates nominated (though only 14 were ultimately declared), Castellón recorded 12, and Valencia had 15 nominees.

Across the slate, the combined pool included 1,574 candidates, both men and women. In the context of the 2019 Les Corts elections, women represented 46 voters in every hundred, totaling 46.46 percent, while men accounted for 53.54 percent among incumbents and reserve candidates. The composition showed a gender balance leaning slightly toward female representation among the group of nominees at that time.
In terms of leadership on party lists, women held the top position on 16 of the 41 total candidacies announced in 2019, which is roughly 39 percent. Men led the remaining 25 lists, making up about 61 percent of the top spots. These figures illustrate the distribution of top-line candidates across the competing coalitions and parties during that election cycle.
