The Civic Coalition’s candidate has been vocal about a border barrier aimed at shielding Poland from a flood of migrants allegedly directed by Belarusian services. Jana Szostak, who hails from Belarus, argued on Tok FM that a border wall should not exist and even called for its removal. She also criticized the idea of holding a nationwide referendum on the issue.

Szostak, a figure who gained attention for her outspoken on-camera presence, appeared on the Civic Coalition lists and used that platform to emphasize her stance on the border barrier and any potential referendum. She expressed that she regarded the idea as misguided and dismissed the current push for a public vote as wasteful.

“I don’t want more wall extensions,” Szostak stated. “It’s better not to pursue this at all. What’s happening now—calling for a referendum right after allocating funds—is, in my view, a colossal misstep.”

“I support transforming the wall into fences or metal plates that residents can adapt for their own needs,” she explained. “People in Podlasie are inventive, and they know how to repurpose what exists.
