An extraordinary meeting of EU energy ministers will take place on Friday in Brussels.
Both for our government and for all European governments the current price changes, but also the gas and energy prices in themselves are unacceptable. We need to react quickly, we need to find solutions, both national and European, to effectively protect both our citizens and businesses
– said the Polish minister.
She added that Poland will strongly support the maximum price for any gas imported at the meeting.
This is a solution that Europe today – so heavily dependent on imported gas – urgently needs to stop Russian blackmail, but also to rationalize the situation.

She pointed out that no one can take advantage of the current situation at the expense of citizens and businesses.
We are also counting on a good discussion about energy prices. We have proposed a good universal legislative solution. If we were to adopt this solution, which is also based on a price block at some level regardless of the energy mix, it would work everywhere
– she said.
The minister added that the mechanism to change wholesale market rates, approaching the generation price, would lower energy prices for citizens and businesses in all EU countries.
