US President Donald Trump plans to cancel the restrictions on the export of chips for Artificial Intelligence (AI) introduced under Joe Biden. This was reported by the agency Bloomberg Reference to resources.
Since May 15 this year, American companies have to comply with a number of rules: the US can be delivered to its allies and Taiwan without restrictions on 17 countries, another 120 countries – in limited amounts and China, Russia, Iran and DPRK are banned.
According to the agency, the Trump administration plans to cancel the restrictions on materials as a part of its efforts to review the restrictions on the trade of semiconductors that cause strong opposition from major technological companies and foreign governments.
“The Trump administration will not apply this rule of the spread of artificial intelligence when it enters into force on May 15th, Mat Material says.
According to one of the sources, the US government’s decision can be announced on Thursday, May 8th.
