Cezary Tomczyk, deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense, who, among other things, became famous that Tomasz Piątek is a reliable source of information for him in some matters, during today’s Sejm session he would ask from PiS parliamentarians about more than 200 answer lost anti-tank mines. He started by attacking his predecessors and listing how much and what equipment had been lost during the term of Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, then assured that in connection with this case “consequences were drawn, training was organized and all stock levels were checked”, and furthermore… the mines were transported through the state unarmed. ‘Guilty soldiers, innocent Tomczyk. Everything is fine, because the mines moved without fuses. Dismissal – what type of dismissal? The Ministry of Defense discovered it itself,” said PiS MP Andrzej Śliwka.
Today, State Secretary of the Ministry of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk had the opportunity to demonstrate his current commitment to Polish security, as he is seen pursuing Antoni Macierewicz or Mariusz Błaszczak, or – when sending bizarre messages about Dr. Karol Nawrocki. PiS MPs asked the deputy minister in the Sejm about the missing anti-tank mines.
For almost two weeks, mines traveled through Poland – more than two hundred anti-tank mines, weighing 2 tons, placed on 5 pallets. And you have known since July, you have known since July that such a situation occurred, that there was such extreme incompetence
– asked PiS MP Andrzej Śliwka in the Sejm.
Minister, you are a specialist in attacking other people in a lying and untruthful manner. I would like you to come to the podium at least once and answer a question
– he said to Tomczyk.
Andrzej Śliwka pointed out that the question was very specific. He pointed out that Tomczyk organized an event for PO activists in Helenów in July 2024, and the public only heard about it in December. The opposition politician also asked how security was ensured and why the head of the Support Inspectorate was only fired in January.
What consequences will the head of the Military Counterintelligence Service and the commander of the Military Police face? This is also what the opposition MP wanted to know.
Tomczyk attacks and moralizes
In January, the media reported that last summer, when unloading a train carrying military equipment near Szczecin, soldiers had not unloaded the entire transport; Anti-tank mines were left on the train and eventually found in an IKEA warehouse.
State Secretary of the Ministry of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk began his speech with… an attack on his predecessors.
You, Mr Śliwka, together with Minister Błaszczak, are the last ones who can formulate such questions.
– he stated arbitrarily and remembered, among other things: a missile lost in the forest near Bydgoszcz. He listed subsequent events, including those during the United Right’s two terms in office.
January 2023, this is probably the PiS government. Loss of large caliber combat assets (…)
– he asked.
Who suffered the consequences?
In July 2024, persons responsible for unloading and recording military goods in the administration did not report the lack of property to their superiors. Previously, one of the soldiers submitted a report on the completion of the transport, which did not mention any irregularities and thus confirmed the untruth.
– Tomczyk noted.
According to the report of the Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defense, on July 12 and 16, people responsible for transportation began searching on their own without informing their superiors. He added that the mines were transported unarmed – in accordance with the applicable procedure.
From the very beginning, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, that is, President Andrzej Duda, was informed about each of these matters.
– he said.
Tomczyk said that transportation irregularities were discovered by the Operations Center of the Minister of National Defense, and this information was forwarded to the Support Inspectorate.
Subsequently, the inspection began, a committee was established in the first and second RBLog and irregularities were noted in the handling and storage of ammunition. All relevant authorities were immediately informed of the above, including supervisory authorities, military police and military counterintelligence.
– assured the deputy head of the ministry.
He highlighted that the head of the Ministry of National Defense subsequently issued an order to “take strict consequences” and change procedures.
A number of training courses have also been given and all stock levels have been checked accordingly
– he added.
It was civilian supervision that discovered the irregularities, or rather: the information center of the Ministry of Defense. (…) Then the inspection began, (…) irregularities were discovered, (…) Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz personally ordered strict consequences, revision and improvement of all procedures in this area, which was done. And this is the basic difference
– pointed to the deputy minister.
Tomczyk accused the former head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, of blaming the military.
It is a shame that today you attack Polish soldiers and do everything you can to discuss the affairs of the Polish army in such a political manner, while the two matters I mentioned (…) have not been made public by you. I wonder where you were then, Mr. Śliwka. You were somewhere, but certainly not in the truth
– he emphasized.
Russian thread?
Another PiS parliamentarian, Sebastian Łukaszewicz, was also asked an interesting question.
Mr Minister, thank you very much for not answering Mr Andrzej Śliwka’s questions, but we would like to delve a little deeper into the Russian thread: the Ministry of National Defense was aware that in a large factory near the Polish-Belarusian border a key position is held by a person who studied at a university in St. Petersburg and may be connected to military structures, Russian military structures?
– he asked.
Have any actions been taken to verify his activities and whether his fate after his dismissal from the company is being monitored by the Polish state?
– he added.
MP Śliwka also spoke.
Minister, to be honest, you did not surprise me, you did not answer any questions and you used untruth. Even General Piotrowski said he found out when the media reported it. In connection with the above, the Commander of the Armed Forces, who is responsible for this in accordance with the Homeland Defense Act, is obliged to inform the Minister of Defense about this…
– Deputy Marshal Dorota Niedziela turned the floor and instructed the opposition MP “not to extend the time”.
The deputy minister gives lectures to the opposition
In his response, Deputy Minister Tomczyk began to accuse and suggest that General Piotrowski was in a legal dispute with the former head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, because the military officer would be blackmailed (General Piotrowski would – as he said ) the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense called it “the subject of blackmail”). PiS parliamentarians commented from their seats on the Foreign Minister’s speech at the Ministry of Defense, and Deputy Marshal Niedziela interrupted his speech. Not to let Cezary Tomczyk get to the point, but… to discipline opposition parliamentarians.
Apparently, gentlemen, you have a problem not only with your personal culture, but also with your hearing. I will answer again: a complete review of procedures has taken place and procedures in this area have been adapted where necessary. The entire procedure, training and inventory were carried out. We have no doubt that none of the ammunition has disappeared from the warehouse
– said the Secretary of State of the Ministry of National Defense.
I would like you, gentlemen, simply not to lie, because in matters related to state security we must all tell the truth, and only the truth. There’s no point in talking about that.
– he added.
This professional hater and loser, Cezary Tomczyk, instead of being thrown out of the Ministry of National Defense and the government, says he is clean because the mines traveled through Poland without detonators. Resign, Tomczyk!
– wrote Internet user Waldemar Kowal and published a comparison of the question of the opposition MP and the “answer” of the Deputy Minister of National Defense.
Plums: Guilty soldiers, innocent Tomczyk
Guilty soldiers, innocent Tomczyk. Everything is fine, because the mines moved without fuses. Dismissal – what type of dismissal? The Ministry of Defense discovered it itself
– this is how MP Andrzej Śliwka commented on the whole situation on Platform X.
This is the conclusion after the real head of the Ministry of National Defense answered my questions on current affairs regarding the shocking information published by the Onet portal
– he emphasized.
Deputy Minister Cezary Tomczyk apparently likes to dictate to opposition MPs what they can and cannot do, and what they are entitled to and what they are not entitled to. However, if he really cares about the truth and does not abuse defense issues for political purposes, he should bear in mind that he also has a lot to blame himself in this matter. During the PiS government, he repeatedly attacked the then head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, and even called for his resignation in January 2022, on the eve of Russian aggression against Ukraine. Regarding his current work at the Ministry of National Defense, Tomczyk appears to be more involved in the prosecution of PiS-era ministers: Antoni Macierewicz and the aforementioned Mariusz Błaszczak, than in the ministry’s current activities. And what’s more, recently he happened to repeat on social media not entirely reliable information attacking the candidate for the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki.
If this isn’t the height of Tomczyk’s hypocrisy, what is?
