American businessman Vivek Ramaswamy resigned from his post as co-chairman of the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) due to disagreements with businessman Elon Musk. The newspaper reported this Washington Post (WP), citing sources.
According to journalists, there was a “deep philosophical divide” between Ramaswamy and Musk over how the new department should work.
“The businessmen shared a radical vision of shrinking government, but their strategies for achieving this goal differed and ultimately proved incompatible,” the document says.
As the authors of the article note, Ramaswamy viewed DOGE as a non-governmental organization or think tank of some sort. He wanted the department to explore ways to shut down certain government agencies without requiring action from the U.S. Congress.
Musk, on the other hand, was more interested in the department’s work from a “technological perspective.” This is what forced Vivek Ramaswamy to give up his post in the administration of the country’s new president, Donald Trump.
November 13, 2024 Trump announcedIt was stated that after taking office, Musk and Ramaswami will head the ministry to increase the efficiency of the US government. DOGE’s main goals should be to get rid of excessive regulations in government agencies and reduce costs to the American budget.
Former journalists I learnedHe said they wanted to give Musk an office in the White House complex.
