“I will run for president, but not because I want to be president. I’ve been repeating it from the beginning and I’ll repeat it today: I want to collect 100,000 signatures to show you from the inside what an election campaign looks like, what a presidential campaign looks like. I would like to put myself forward to participate in a debate about TVP in liquidation. I want to be a candidate so that TVP in liquidation will broadcast materials prepared by my election committee in accordance with applicable law,” said Krzysztof Stanowski.

The creator of Kanał Zero, Krzysztof Stanowski, decided to fulfill what many had previously considered a joke and announced that he would run for president.

The journalist did it in his own style. Just like three weeks ago, Rafał Trzaskowski pretended to give a speech to the nation, standing in front of the flags of Poland, the European Union and Germany. His speech was full of mockery and strange interruptions, such as parts of the speech being generated by an artificial voice.

Citizens of the Republic of Poland, I address you as a candidate for the presidency, I address you on matters of the utmost importance. Our homeland is on the brink of the abyss. The Polish house that rose from the ashes is an achievement of many generations and is falling into disrepair. State structures cease to function. Every day new blows are dealt to the shrinking economy. Living conditions are increasingly burdening people. Lines of painful division run through every workplace and many Polish homes. The atmosphere of endless misunderstandings is causing psychological damage and undermining the traditions of Polish tolerance. Chaos and demoralization reached the proportions of a disaster. The nation has reached the limits of its mental endurance, and many people are gripped by despair. Not days, but hours bring a national catastrophe closer

Attack on rival candidates

Krzysztof Stanowski pointed out that citizens will soon have to choose who should become the next President of the Republic of Poland.

It will be a serious choice, a crucial choice, a necessary choice. I think many of you, dear citizens, are having difficulty identifying a candidate you can identify with and vote for. Is it worth voting for someone who changes their mind every day? Someone for whom lying is an everyday tool, who disguises himself as someone he is not? Someone who, for the sake of the campaign, gets close to people he normally despises, so that after victory he can distance himself from them with a cordon of soldiers. Is it worth supporting someone who is willing to trade all their ideals, opinions and values ​​for votes? Or maybe it’s worth voting for someone you’ve never heard of, but who the party has identified as the one you should serve. Someone who thinks you’ll be impressed by the sight of a well-done push-up. Is lifting the burden of presidential responsibility, or lifting the burden of the Republic of Poland, or lifting the burden of the legacy left by our ancestors, the same as lifting the washing machine?

So maybe we should vote for the man who turned the Polish Sejm into a place of TV jokes and pranks. A man whose unbridled desire for celebrity glamor turns the serious House of Parliament into a frivolous circus arena. Someone who wanted to demolish the dictator of another country and burst into tears at the sight of the constitution? Maybe you should vote for a candidate who travels around Poland drinking beer and falls asleep after the fourth, while this is not the tradition of Poland’s highest office. Maybe a lady who wants to take your car and put you on city buses. Or perhaps with her friend who hides his red, communist leanings behind socialist slogans. Do you want a president who actually puts out diplomatic fires or someone who runs through the Sejm with a fire extinguisher? Should I continue listing the people you don’t want to vote for, or should I finally mention the person you do want and need to vote for?

Krzysztof Stanowski admitted that “this person is not here.”

Such a person does not exist. I stand before you today to draw attention to this electoral disaster. I stand before you not to become president because I don’t have the competence, I don’t have the experience, I don’t have the skills. I am unable to fill this office with the right class. It’s just like my competitors, but they don’t know it

It’s quite a travesty that you’re about to elect the president as a puppet, that the two main players in this race for the number one position in the country aren’t even number one in their respective parties. They are meal boys. You will choose another officer to oversee the distribution of the political spoils. Another guardian of the ad hoc politics that consists of appropriating, making plans and challenging each other, you against your neighbors, the guardian of tomorrow’s interests and opinion polls. And not the guardian of the long-term interests of the state. You, dear citizens, only have to choose who will laugh at you next

I would like the slogan ‘Zero Powers’ to be mine alone, but it is the slogan of our entire political class that has cornered and taken over this country. Today in politics, truth doesn’t matter, honor doesn’t matter, dignity doesn’t matter, and even national, cross-party interests don’t matter. There is no room today to build the prestige of our homeland. There is not even social pressure on people in serious positions to deal with serious problems

At the end, Stanowski emphasized again that he wants to run for president, he wants 100,000 signatures, but he doesn’t want to be president.
