“My sincerest apologies to all the right people, but what is so shocking about the slogan: ‘Once with a sickle, once with a hammer, the red rabble’? The communists differ from the German Nazis in that they still occupy the world in many places and have so far succeeded in killing tens of millions of people. Do you pity them, hypocrites? And is this slogan your…piss more cultural for you?” – asked Prof. Przemysław Czarnek on his social media.
Like every year, several thousand fans from all over Poland came to Jasna Góra with their own intentions – for the unity of Poland, its development, for our national heroes, for the suffering and sick, and for patriotic circles. This year’s pilgrimage was held under the slogan “For you, our work, beloved homeland”. Karol Nawrocki, a civilian candidate for president supported by Law and Justice, took part.
Attack on the pilgrimage
The pilgrimage was attacked by the left of the Polish political scene. Portals such as Onet.pl and Wp.pl were affected by the slogans that appeared during Nawrocki’s speech, which took place in the hall of Father Augustyn Kordecki: “once with a sickle, together with a hammer, the red rabble.”
During the press conference, Karol Nawrocki was asked by TVN24 about these “controversial slogans”.
Madam Editor, dear ladies and gentlemen, some of you and some politicians, some people who function in public opinion and in political life, you want to censor X today. It’s too much! The fans are also citizens of the Republic of Poland. I have met them and will continue to meet them
– he replied.
Response from professor Czarnka
This ‘outrage’ was commented on social media by the former Minister of Education and Science, PiS MP Prof. Przemysław Czarnek.
