Alternative for Germany (AfD) Co-chair and German Chancellor candidate Alice Weidel talked about the supply of Russian gas to the country via the remaining Nord Stream 2 line. This was reported by Strip.
In his speech at the federal party congress where he was approved as the AfD’s chancellor candidate, Weidel touched upon the measures planned to be implemented within the first 100 days after taking office.
According to him, under the leadership of the Alternative for Germany government, Germany will re-purchase Russian gas, which is planned to be supplied through the remaining Nord Stream 2 line.
Robert Bechler, representative of the Swiss company Transliq AG in December statedIt was stated that the maximum cost of repairing the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline could reach 633 million Euros.
According to Bechler, this amount is at the upper end of expected costs and is based on the future use of Nord Stream 2, not its decommissioning.
