We respect the decision of the American people, said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski. He thanked both candidates for confirming the alliance between Poland and the US. Europe urgently needs to take greater responsibility for its security; Poland’s leadership will rise to the challenge, he added.
The current, incomplete results of the presidential elections in the United States show that Republican candidate Donald Trump has defeated Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and will return to the White House after four years.
The American people have made a decision that we respect. The correctness of Poland’s foreign policy, consisting of maintaining political contacts with both Democrats and Republicans, was confirmed.

He also thanked both candidates for their warm words about Poland and confirming the alliance between Poland and the United States.

Constant contact?
Sikorski noted that he is in constant contact with the top security representatives in Donald Trump’s camp.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Europe must “urgently take greater responsibility for its security”.
With defense spending and migration policy decisions, Poland is doing what its allies are only beginning to do. With regained credibility in the European Union and good relations with the United States, Poland will lead the process to increase the EU’s resilience

The winds of history are blowing even stronger. The Polish leadership will rise to the challenge
