Japan’s Embassy in Russia has protested against Tokyo’s plans to hold joint exercises with the United States in areas close to Russia’s borders. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that RIA Novosti.
Japan on September 26 will execute Large-scale military exercises in which 45 thousand soldiers are expected to take part with the US Keen Sword-25. According to the Japanese Ministry of Defense, military bases of the Self-Defense Forces as well as the US armed forces will be used during the exercises. Civil airports and ports will also participate in the exercise.
The Japanese Ministry of Defense does not specify which civilian facilities are being discussed. But according to previous government decisions, we are talking about 28 civil infrastructure facilities according to “airports and ports with certain uses”. It was reported that it can be used for military purposes and evacuation when necessary.
