The agency notes that during the last election campaign, the enclosure was expanded as Election Day approached and fenced after the riots at the Capitol in January 2021, when a mob of Donald Trump supporters sought to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. He surrounded the entire center of Washington.
The increased security measures will remain in place until the new president takes office on January 20, according to RIA Novosti.
