Since the beginning of this year, the Polish authorities have never refused to accept foreigners from the German side, as the portal wPolityce.pl showed. It also turns out that more and more illegal migrants from the EU are being brought to Poland by plane. Only in the past three months, such transports from 14 EU countries have arrived in our country.
The problem of the return of foreigners from the Community countries to Poland is not decreasing. On the contrary, the number seems to be growing, even though the route through Belarus has been less popular with smugglers recently.
The Border Guard Service, in response to questions from the wPolityce.pl portal, said that this was the case in the period from January 1 to September 15 of this year. 545 foreigners were transferred from Germany to our country. We asked in how many cases the Polish authorities refused to accept illegal migrants.
Poland did not refuse to accept foreigners from the German side
– wrote Lieutenant Colonel Andrzej Juźwiak, press spokesman of the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard Service. Interestingly, when we asked about the same statistics before the holidays, it turned out that from the beginning of the year until June 6, 290 foreigners were transferred from Germany to Poland. This means that their number in the last three months was comparable to the number of referrals in the first half of 2024. It can therefore be concluded that in recent weeks, the number of foreigners being sent back by our western neighbours has increased by 100% compared to the first half of this year.
It is also a mystery that Poland did not notice any irregularities and politely accepted everyone the Germans wanted to get rid of.
We also asked the border guard about foreigners who were returned to Poland by plane from European Union countries. To our surprise, it turned out that these were not isolated cases. From the beginning of June to September 10, 135 people were returned to Poland in this way.
According to information from the border guard, she has mostly solved her problems this way over the past three months Norway – in 66 cases. The next places were Austria (11 cases), Germany (10), Estonia (9), Netherlands (8), Sweden (7), Denmark (5), Iceland (5), Finland (4), Switzerland (3), Belgium (3), Luxembourg (2), France (1) and Malta (1).
How is this done?
Foreigners are transferred to the territory of the Republic of Poland from other Member States on the basis of international agreements and readmission agreements to which the transferring country and Poland are parties. If Poland agrees to admit a foreigner to its territory, the transferring country is responsible for organizing the transfer of the foreigner to Poland (tour organization, possible security of the escort, etc.) and bears the costs of such transportation.
– describes Lieutenant Colonel Juźwiak.
Anticipating the fact that the increasing number of foreigners being returned to Poland from the Community countries, we also asked about the current occupancy of Polish centres for foreigners. The response sent shows that on 17 September (07.00) there were only 265 vacancies in all centres of our country.
