Russia will respond to Latvia’s complexity regarding the extension of residence permits for Russian citizens, this was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. RIA Novosti.
This comment comes after media reports that the Latvian authorities have decided to complicate the procedure for renewing residence permits for Russian citizens. Now they will be additionally required to know Latvian and fill out a questionnaire with questions on their attitude towards the special military operation in Ukraine.
According to Zakharova, “We will continue to take tough response measures, including those of an asymmetric nature, against the ongoing legal arbitrariness in Latvia.”
