““Together with the dead fish in the Oder, the complete disintegration of our country in the government segment has come to the surface,” Polsat News journalist Piotr Zgorzelski, deputy speaker of the Sejm, confronted with this statement today. The politician, who did not know that these were his own words, but from 2022, declared that it was a “PiS story announcing the end of the world.” However, Zgorzelski is not the only politician from the current ruling coalition who is less concerned about the situation on the Oder than about the fact that tons of dead fish are currently being fished out of water reservoirs.

But not PiS, but… politics?

Why do these golden algae appear in freshwater rivers when they should appear in saltwater bodies? For one simple reason: these rivers have been salted by large industrial plants. Nothing has been done about this issue under PiS

Tusk in ‘severe depression’, country ‘collapsed’

Just two years ago, current Prime Minister Donald Tusk was “in a serious depression” due to the situation on the Odra River. “Measles died because the government was on vacation,” wrote current Equality Minister Katarzyna Kotula. “An event that shows that the state in Poland has collapsed and it does not exist,” thundered Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz on TVN24. Donald Tusk (we understand that after recovering from “serious depression” with the help of appropriate therapy and pharmacology, because it is difficult to believe that the then leader of the opposition did not know that he was attributing himself to a serious illness that required treatment) invited people to a funeral march for Odra, and “shocking footage” of the Gliwice Canal was published by MP Witold Zembaczyński. Of course, we cannot forget the Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Urszula Zielińska, who – while still in opposition – shouted at the election convention: “Rivers are not sewage”.
