Stalin’s difficult legacy in Georgia, 100 years after he came to power

Iosif Visarionovich Dzugashvili, más conocido como Stalin, ‘el hombre de acero’, es el georgiano más conocido a nivel global. Sus años al frente de la URSS, que empezaron en 1924, quedaron marcados por la industrialización, la victoria frente a la Alemania nazi y la represión con puño de hierro a la disidencia. Un legado que dejó una huella profunda tanto en los países exsoviéticos como en su patria de origen, Georgia. Incluso a día de hoy su mandato es algo incómodo. Gori, la ciudad donde nació el déspota, actualmente tiene una avenida en pleno corazón de la urbe y un museo sobre él.
