““On the eve of Polish Army Day, we are submitting a bill on the Wall behind the Polish uniform,” Law and Justice MPs Anna Gembicka, Andrzej Śliwka and Michał Moskal said at a joint press conference.
It is mainly about two issues. First: increasing the penalty for insulting the Polish uniform. This applies to both Polish military personnel, border guards and police officers who will be insulted in connection with the performance of their duties or activities.
– Anna Gembicka noted.
The second aspect is the question of changing the way in which these cases can be tried. That is, making it possible to try these cases in the so-called 24-hour courts. In this way, we are making a certain change, so that the whole procedure begins from the moment the identity of the perpetrators is established. The reason for preparing this bill was the situation in Wyczółki in Podlasie, when Polish soldiers were spat on, doused with beer, insulted and attacked by an aggressive group of pseudo-activists.
– the PiS MP explained.
Will there be cross-party support?
By submitting the bill for the Wall behind the Polish uniform, we want to ensure that Polish soldiers, border guards and police officers receive appropriate protection, because unfortunately they cannot count on such protection from the Ministry of National Defense or the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. We are all observing the recent situations that have occurred. That is why this project was born
– said Anna Gembicka.
I hope it will get support from all sides, because I think that each of us has to make sure that the soldiers are protected and that the morale of the soldiers is as high as possible. It is simply a matter of defending our border, and we now know that the activists and journalists who often attacked the Polish government, attacked Polish soldiers and officers, were people who had contacts with the Russian spy, and I think that this issue also needs to be addressed. be thoroughly investigated
– the politician emphasized.
“‘We stand behind Polish soldiers’
If the law is to be what is good and right, then the bill entitled Murem Za Polskiego Unidure is good and right. We are convinced that, as part of the cross-party activities of the Polish Parliament, it will be processed quickly. We as parliamentarians would like to point out that there are almost no bills, only parliamentary bills. These are mainly Law and Justice projects. We are the most active club and this bill did not come from space, it did not come from nowhere, but is a specific response to the events that took place in the village of Wyczółki
– said Andrzej Śliwka.
In the Murem Za Polskiego Unidure project, we assume an increase in the maximum penalty to five years for crimes punishable by the Criminal Code in articles 222, 223 and 226. This is an active attack on an officer, this is insulting an officer, this is any other action that insults the Polish uniform. In this project, we clearly and unequivocally stand behind the Polish soldiers
– the PiS MP stressed.
We must stand behind them, because since December 13th, a terrible atmosphere has been created in Poland, instruments have been created that are not intended to defend Polish officers, but to attack them. For this purpose, a team was created by Mr. Bodnar to pursue these soldiers, defenders of the Polish borders. This is why many tragedies are happening, soldiers have low morale and are afraid to make decisions that will lead to defending these Polish borders.
– the politician noted.
“The Polish state cannot be helpless
The Polish state cannot be helpless, and unfortunately, since December 13th we have a government that is helpless against those who attack the Polish uniform. Moreover, this government is not only helpless, but often supports those who attack the Polish uniform. Recently, we saw that one of these people, who attacked a Polish soldier, border guard or policeman who defends our border, found himself in a prominent position in the public media.
– Michał Moskal noted.
We have heard about situations where Polish soldiers are being shackled for effectively defending the border. Today we are introducing a bill called the Wall behind the Polish uniform, which is intended to provide soldiers with real protection against such behavior. The Polish state must be strong against those who attack the Polish uniform. Today we are not in an ordinary situation. We are in a situation of hybrid war that Putin and Lukashenko have declared to us. And today, on the side of the Polish government, there is a group of people who have assembled a team of prosecutors to prosecute and convict soldiers who effectively defend our border.
– the politician noted.
On the government side, there are also people who are ordinary liars and manipulators, such as Deputy Minister Tomczyk, who, when soldiers were attacked by a group of hooligans on our border, said that seventeen people had been interrogated. It took several days to find out that almost all the interrogated people were soldiers who were attacked by hooligans, and the 17th person was the commander of this group. We see that today the Polish state is not strong against hooligans, but it is strong against the soldiers who stand on our border and who guarantee our security.
– Michał Moskal added.
