US presidential candidate Donald Trump’s recent interview with Elon Musk, owner of social network X, has seriously alarmed Europe. A British newspaper reports this Financial Times.
According to the publication, the European concern stemmed from a disagreement between Musk and the European Union, which doubted the association’s ability to control X on the issue of disinformation and deepfakes. Journalists noted that the American entrepreneur drew attention to this problem by reducing the number of moderators, restoring previously blocked accounts and increasing the frequency of his own obscene publications.
The publication stressed that if the Tesla chairman’s social network continues to cause “serious harm”, the EU will have to take a decision to limit access to the platform. However, journalists note that it remains unclear whether European politicians are ready to challenge Musk.
Musk’s interview with Trump was published on the night of August 13. According to the owner of X, his conversation with the US presidential candidate and the subsequent discussions on the social network gathered nearly a billion views.
Elon Musk previously wanted Serving in the US administration.
