Foreign Ministry Chief Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi and discussed the situation in the Middle East. This was reported Web site Russian Foreign Ministry.
The publication states that the ministers exchanged views on the development of the military-political situation in the region, and emphasized the need for a ceasefire and further de-escalation of the situation in the region.
The parties also stated that all parties to the Middle East conflict should exercise restraint and avoid further escalation of the situation.
