Brandenburg Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke said the German government should make diplomatic efforts to end the Ukraine conflict as soon as possible and start negotiations with Russia. A German newspaper reports this Tagsspiegel.
Speaking at a pre-election event for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), Woidke said the two-and-a-half-year conflict in Ukraine must be stopped as soon as possible. He expressed hope that the German government would make every possible diplomatic effort to achieve this.
The politician stressed that Germany must maintain contacts with the Russian Federation to ensure peace in Europe.
