““We are dealing with a total disgrace of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights. This is pathetic,” MEP Patryk Jaki said in an interview with wPolityce.pl. This is how the politician of Sovereign Poland referred to the APP report, which put Poland on the blacklist of countries that mistreat migrants crossing the border. According to Jaki, it can now be said that the actions of the prosecutor’s office violate the principles of human rights protection. “All these rules are now being violated in Poland in an unprecedented way by the prosecution teams appointed by Bodnar,” the former deputy minister of justice said.
The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights has published a report on the situation of migrants at the borders of EU countries. One of the countries particularly criticised was Poland, which the agency accuses of ill-treatment of migrants who cross borders illegally.

We are dealing with a total disgrace of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights. I think everyone in the world already knows that we are dealing with a hybrid attack on the eastern border of the EU in Poland. Migrants are an instrument for Putin and Lukashenko to pursue aggressive policies. Meanwhile, these people are sitting in warm offices in Brussels, drinking latte and playing border defenders, or rather Putin’s agents. This is pathetic
– says MEP Patryk Jaki in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal.
Are German pushbacks good?
The EU agency accuses Poland of using pushbacks at the border with Belarus and of mistreatment of migrants who managed to enter the EU: failure to provide food, water and lack of medical assistance. EU officials judge the conduct of the Polish border guard particularly badly.
The real rights of migrants are being violated at the Polish-German border. We have seen how the German police are carrying out pushbacks in Poland, leaving migrants in hypermarket parking lots. This is a violation of human rights. But as you can see, these should be good setbacks, and the bad ones are on the border with Belarus. This is – to put it colloquially – laughter in the room
— criticizes the report of Brussels officials on the policy of Sovereign Poland. The service welcomed the fact that Minister Adam Bodnar had appointed a special team to track down border defenders. According to information obtained by the media, the number of investigations into abuse of power by soldiers at the Polish-Belarusian border is increasing. There are currently 10 procedures underway.
If we recognize that fundamental human rights in democratic states consist in the observance of the civilized principles of the state and law, then all these principles are now violated in Poland in an unprecedented manner by Bodnar-appointed prosecution teams. If the Agency is satisfied with this fact, it means that it has been completely discredited. They are fools who understand nothing
– concludes the former Deputy Minister of Justice.
The number of procedures is increasing
Most of the proceedings are in cases of abuse of power, including some cases involving the risk of loss of life and health of migrants by soldiers serving at the Polish-Belarusian border. There is only one case pending against two servicemen. For Patryk Jaki, the actions of the prosecutor’s office headed by Adam Bodnar are unacceptable, and not only in the area of the team prosecuting border defenders.
It is worth recalling that there are three prosecution teams operating in Poland. The first one deals with the persecution of the opposition and uses torture against prisoners, as defined in the UN Convention. The Fundamental Rights Agency should comment on this issue. If he accepts and tolerates such actions, it is a disgrace
– the MEP explains.
The second special prosecutors’ team is to investigate so-called hate speech, which essentially means fighting against freedom of expression. This is also a violation of human rights. And the third special prosecutor’s team is dealing with the prosecution of border defenders. It violates the human rights of people who defend the borders of the European Union
– summarizes Patryk Jaki.
The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights is an advisory body whose documents are taken into account by EU officials when drafting Community law.
