President Andrzej Duda has awarded former Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Wasyl Zwarycz the Commander’s Cross with Star of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for outstanding contributions to the development of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation, the Presidential Chancellery announced.
In June, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s press service announced that he had recalled the Ukrainian ambassador to Poland. Zwarycz took over the post in the Czech Republic.

Zwarycz was appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland on February 8, 2022 and presented his credentials on July 14, 2022.
Zwarycz graduated from the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Warsaw. Ivan Franko in Lviv. He has been working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine since 1999. Before taking up the post of Ukrainian ambassador in Warsaw, he was the first secretary at this institution and then deputy head of the mission.
