“The planned collapse and destruction of Telewizja Polska has been going on for a long time (…) and on the threshold of the biggest sporting event of the quadrennial Olympic Games, one of the greatest reporters in the history of TVP, Przemysław Babiarz, beloved by viewers, was suspended,” wrote Jacek Kurski, former head of TVP, on X.
The scandalous suspension of Przemysław Babiarz as a commentator of the Paris Olympics continues to reverberate after he uttered a few true words about the lyrics of John Lennon’s song “Imagine”, which was one of the highlights of the programme of the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

Former TVP head Jacek Kurski commented on social media about the neo-TVP management’s decision regarding Babiarz.
The planned collapse and destruction of Telewizja Polska has been going on for a long time. Yesterday, the liquidation of Panorama, the flagship news service of TVP2 that has been publishing for almost 40 years, was announced. Today, one of the greatest reporters in the history of TVP, Przemysław Babiarz, beloved by viewers, was suspended on the threshold of the biggest sporting event of the quadrennial Olympic Games.
– wrote Jacek Kurski.

Ideologically motivated revenge
Kurski judged that this was political revenge for the fact that Babiarz commented in a few sober words on the broadcast of the highly ideological, even left-wing opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.
This was done in retaliation against a journalist who, while reporting on the ugly, ideological spectacle of promoting deviation, spiced with the parody of transvestites on Leonardo da Vinci’s all-time masterpiece ‘The Last Supper’ and the leftist manifesto ‘Imagine’, gave himself an honest and common sense comment: “a world without heaven, nations, religions – this is a vision of peace that will include everyone. This, unfortunately, is the vision of communism.” This decision is pure censorship and murder
– said Kurski.

The former head of TVP thanked Przemysław Babiarz for many years of great commentary and reporting on major sporting events, and assured that sooner or later those who prevented him from commentating on sports competitions at the Olympic Games will be held accountable.
Mr. Przemek, the time will come when the guilty will be held responsible for hurting people and destroying television, and the defendants will be the judges. Thank you for your versatile talent and professionalism, for everything you have done on television and for television, in sports, popularizing history, journalism and entertainment. Thank you for the years together. We are proud of you
– assured Jacek Kurski.
