“Such an important decision should be the decision of all NATO members. And it should be on the agenda. This is really very important for us. There have already been situations of violation of Polish airspace” – this is what Piotr Ćwik, Deputy Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, said on Telewizja wPolska about the possible shooting down of Russian missiles from Polish territory.
Piotr Ćwik stressed that the decision to shoot down Russian missiles from Polish territory should be the decision of the entire NATO.
Such an important decision should be the decision of all the members of the pact. And it should be on the agenda. This is really very important for us. There have already been situations when Polish airspace was violated. We cannot allow such situations to happen again. We see that Russia is escalating the ongoing war in Ukraine. He is trying very hard, especially in recent days, to show his strength. We need a NATO position that is common
– he said.
The deputy head of the Chancellery said that in addition to this issue, discussions on defense spending of individual countries will also be of great importance for President Andrzej Duda.
The debate about increasing the contribution is back. This shows that Andrzej Duda’s position was right. The president has been saying for a long time that defense spending should be increased. Poland is the leader here. We spend 4%. GDP. There are countries that did not even reach 2%. But let’s be honest: if NATO wants to be a real force and fight Russia, it will have to increase spending. The issue of increasing defense spending is a very important issue that the president will raise. We show that it is possible because Poland is doing it.
– added.
He left the party and stayed in the club
Piotr Ćwik was asked about his recent decision to leave Law and Justice.
When I decided to run for the Provincial Assembly, I wanted the job to be good and substantive. Unanimous decisions are needed in local governments. I am very glad that we managed to maintain the unity of the PiS club in the Assembly of Lesser Poland. I think that my resignation from the party was partly expected by some politicians. I clearly emphasize that he remains a member of the Law and Justice club in the Assembly of Lesser Poland Voivodeship. In the councilors’ club of the regional council, not all councilors are party members
– he stressed about Telewizja wPolen.
The case of Fr. Michał Olszewski
He was also asked about President Andrzej Duda’s opinion on the situation of Father Michał Olszewski.
Another very disturbing and scandalous image. The way Fr. Olszewski and the staff of the Ministry of Justice show that we are dealing with torture. Mr. President believes that the matter should be clarified as soon as possible
– he said.
