““Instead of governing the country, they are busy filing notices. Their motivation is revenge” – this is how Michał Wójcik, a member of parliament from sovereign Poland, comments in an interview with the wpolityce.pl portal on Roman Giertych’s notice to the prosecutor’s office about the possibility of PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński committing a crime. The former deputy justice minister adds that the December 13 coalition is afraid of the return of the United Right to power.
For seven months, these people, instead of governing, have been filing notices, trying to remove the immunity of parliamentarians, trying to intimidate, but they have practically nothing to do with the state. Such notices are an example of what their governments rely on.
– says Michał Wójcik, emphasizing that this is unfounded in the case of President Kaczyński.
In this case it is impermissible because President Jarosław Kaczyński wrote many such letters and various types of issues were raised in them. I remember that there were also letters about my field of work, in which the President, guided by some media information, asked for explanations and sent such letters, among others: to Minister Zbigniew Ziobro. This was nothing unusual
– says the former Deputy Minister of Justice, adding that in this case the situation is exactly the same:
This letter contained a conditional vote, there is the following sentence: “if the information is confirmed”, i.e. based on information that the PiS president had, probably from the media, he simply submitted this kind of investigation, but the matter was clarified. However, the people who form the ruling camp today try to make a fuss or a scandal out of every situation and file reports.
The Member of Parliament also emphasizes that the continuous filing of reports in all possible cases is a disgrace for the Public Prosecution Service.
They also have to remember one thing: if when you report something that is not a crime, you know that it is not, and in this case it is, then it is actually a crime. You cannot submit reports to yourself at will and feel that you have no impunity. There is a legal provision that states that filing a false report is a crime. This is the situation we are dealing with here
– says Michał Wójcik.
Coalition of revenge
Michał Wójcik explains that the same motives of Roman Giertych are the same as what motivates the entire current ruling coalition:
Revenge. This is something very bad in any area of life, and perhaps especially bad in politics, because you have to be guided by the principle of responsibility, and here they are guided by revenge and do incredible things.
He also recalls that the prosecutor’s office, in this case the Lublin prosecutor’s office, is also interested in Roman Giertych.
If what the media writes is true, Mr. Giertych should report to the regional prosecutor’s office in Lublin, because they want to file charges against him, and he files reports on other cases, and works in a parliamentary team that prosecutes United Right MPs. Moreover, he meets Bodnar at the Ministry of Justice, which means that he does not go to the prosecutor’s office himself, but meets with the prosecutor general. This makes you look ridiculous.
– the politician explains.

““Attack on the opposition and its leader”
Michał Wójcik also explains that despite his many years in politics, he has never seen anything similar to what is happening during the rule of the December 13 coalition:
Instead of governing, the government is only concerned with holding its opponents accountable. This is an attempt to split and destroy the opposition. They are afraid that we will come to power. It is clear that they are using shameful methods, sometimes reminiscent of Stalinist times, while a significant part of the media is in the hands of the authorities, they have a majority in parliament and it is as if they live with the fact that this authority never ends, and every authority ends. And they must be aware that one day they will have to answer for these actions, for everything they do.
– says Wójcik, emphasizing that “this will happen before an independent prosecutor’s office, because this institution is currently not independent”:
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has been seized, there is an attempt to destroy the Constitutional Tribunal, they are infringing on the National Council of the Judiciary, there have been arrests of MPs and now they are trying to lift the immunity of another MP. This is an attack on the opposition.
Michał Wójcik also stresses that on the day the right wing returns to power, the actions of the December 13 Coalition must be held accountable and cannot be silently ignored.
