Former Prime Minister and Vice President of PiS, Mateusz Morawiecki, called on Poles to demand the implementation of the original assumptions of the Central Communication Port (CPK). He announced that he would present the differences between the original design and the modified version of the current government. “Only in your hands, dear Poles, is this project,” he said.
“‘Donald Tusk put a spoke in these spokes’
Morawiecki stressed at a press conference in Lublin that the CPK, together with ten spokes (railway lines), would be the driving force behind Poland’s development and would break the “curse of division” by creating new communications through a network of railway connections, including those between Warsaw, Lublin, Rzeszów, Zamość and Chełm.
Under social pressure, six months of effective social pressure, for which I would like to thank all Poles, without any political context, I would like to thank all Poles very much for exerting this effective pressure. What did Tusk do? Tusk was supposed to restore the CPK, the central communication gateway, but he says that Lublin, the Lublin region, is larger than Poland. Mr Tusk, for you, is Lublin larger than Poland? Is Rzeszów larger than Poland? Is Białystok coming out of the closet, is Katowice larger than Poland? What kind of government is this, what kind of prime minister is this? Of which government is this the prime minister? I am beginning to have very serious doubts
– he said.
These ten spokes that were supposed to connect Poland were put aside today. Donald Tusk put a stick in these spokes
– said Morawiecki.
Morawiecki will present the differences
According to him, Prime Minister Tusk is destroying what the previous government built, namely the foundations of Poland’s sustainable development and equal opportunities for all.
In July I promise to present the fundamental differences between what Tusk showed a few days ago and what was the original project we funded. I ask: where is this money? What are they doing about it?
– said Morawiecki.
““This project is only in your hands, dear Poles.”
He appealed to the Poles to put pressure on the government and demand the restoration of the original form of the CPK.
That’s why I ask everyone, as nicely as possible, under social pressure […] we have at least restored the Central Communications Gate as a slogan, let’s restore it today, let’s put further pressure on this government to restore the original form of the Central Communications Gate
– he appealed.
Let us not allow ourselves, under the ostensible slogan of restoring the CPK to the map of Poland, to actually liquidate what was supposed to overcome age-old problems stemming from the time of division.
– said the former prime minister.
This project is only in your hands, dear Poles
– added.
The Government of Law and Justice has prepared the Central Communications Gate and financing. Today we have handed over this treasure, this lifting of the curse of division, to our successors and they are making a caricature of it, destroying everything, probably just to do good for their neighbors.
– he also emphasized.
“Let’s fight this together”
When asked about the protests against the construction of the so-called Spree in Lubelskie Voivodeship – which were organized many times by residents of towns in the Zamość and Krasnystaw area, through which railway lines were to pass – Morawiecki said that he would discuss them with local government officials from these places.
He stressed that there is always protest when it comes to such investments, but the general interest requires that a compromise solution is reached during the consultations. According to him, however, this is not the biggest problem today, but the fact that these investments in the Lublin region are not included in the CPK project changed by the current government.
The biggest challenge is that the government of Tusk, the Minister of Infrastructure, does not sound the alarm, but shows the Lublin region as the one that does not fit on the scale of Poland. Let’s fight this together
– said Morawiecki.
What did Tusk propose?
Last week, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the most modern airport in Europe will be built in Baranów, between Łódź and Warsaw. As he added, the government is abandoning the idea of building railway lines that intersect in Baranów. Instead, it proposes connecting all major Polish cities by rail.
This does not include the modernization and construction of previously designed railway lines in, among others, Lubelskie Voivodeship, to Chełm, Zamość or Biała Podlaska.
Last Monday, at a press conference in Rzeszów, the head of government announced that he would ask Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Piotr Malepszak to prepare detailed information on the future of rail transport in relation to all provincial cities.
