Announcement of the collection of signatures for the referendum
In late June, during the convention in Pułtusk, PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński announced the collection of signatures demanding a new referendum on ending the migration pact.
From September we will collect signatures to demand a new referendum. Because this must be the basis for a new demand, because we are convinced that if such a referendum takes place, we will win. To demand the end of this pact. We cannot possibly agree. And this must be a national task that can be achieved today
– the leader of the United Right explained at the time.
The PiS president also recalled last year’s referendum, which was boycotted by the then opposition and now by the ruling coalition of December 13.
Let us not forget what happened not so long ago – during the elections. There was a referendum. There were calls to boycott it. In many places actions were taken to discourage people from taking referendum cards (…) The idea was to invalidate them. And it worked

The PiS MP explains
In the broadcast of neo-TVP Info, PiS MP Marcin Przydacz, former head of the President’s Office of International Policy and former deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was asked by one of the viewers of the program “Bez retuszu” what the point of such a referendum is if the majority of the ruling parties in Poland do not support the migration pact in its current form.
Remember that according to the Polish Constitution, the highest power in Poland belongs to the nation. We hope that such a referendum will be ordered in the first place. In the autumn we will collect signatures for this. Ultimately, half a million signatures are needed

But I hope that the democratic authorities, as the Sejm calls itself today, will not ignore the fact that half a million or perhaps, God willing, more Poles will be waiting for such a referendum.
